Everyone’s mind is an ocean. The moment you connect with another person is like inviting them into your ocean. But if the relationship is still new, you can’t scare them off with deep sea creatures or monsters or sharp coral reefs or heavy swells. You have to make it inviting… sunshine, white sands, gentle waves lapping at your feet, maybe a school of tiny fish swirling around, or turtles or dolphins off in the distance. It’s only once they start loving visiting your ocean are they ready to catch a glimpse of the horrors that lurk below the abyss. Even so. They may never be ready for that.
